The Tana High-Level Forum on Security in Africa is strengthening its strategic oversight and advisory capacities with the co-option of highly distinguished African leaders and regional experts. These newly appointed members to the Tana Board and Technical Committee will play a vital role in steering the Forum’s agenda and reinforcing its mission to champion African-led solutions to the continent’s peace, security, and development challenges.
New Additions to the Tana Board
- H.E. Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan: Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
- H.E. Amb. Hadera Abera Admassu: State Minister for Political and Economic Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ethiopia.
- H.E. Dr. Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka: Former United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UN Women.
New Additions to the Tana Technical Committee
- Dr. Dawit Toga: Visiting Senior Research Fellow at King’s College London; an expert in conflict prevention, mediation, and peacekeeping in the Horn of Africa.
- Mr. Fitsum Girma Demissie: Deputy Director General for African Affairs at the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Dr. Seydina M. Ndiaye: Head of the ALIVE (AI Living lab for Innovation and Viable Ethical policies and systems) research group at Université Numérique Cheikh Hamidou Kane.
- Njoya Tikum: Director of the Sub-Regional Office for West and Central Africa and UNDP Resident Representative in Senegal.
- Cynthia Chigwenya: Lead researcher for the United Nations Youth Compass and Consultant at the Club of Rome.
- Faten Aggad: Chief of Staff of the Cabinet of the Deputy Chairperson at the African Union Commission.
- Donald Deya: Chief Executive Officer of the Pan African Lawyers Union.
