Call for submissions: Annual book launch

The Forum provides an opportunity for one author(s) to present a book to the Forum’s participants, a diverse gathering of African heads of state and government, decision-makers at the African Union (AU), United Nations (UN) and other international organizations, academia and members of civil society.

For the 10th Tana Forum, set to take place on 25-29 October 2021 in Bahir Dar, the theme is “Managing Security Threats: Building Resilience for the Africa we want.” Interested authors are invited to submit their book if it falls on this theme or on peace, security, governance or development in Africa to the Tana Forum Secretariat.

Submission criteria:

  • An expression of interest stating: the title of book, publication date and edition, language, and significance to the Forum;
  • Abstract (max 500 words);
  • Author(s) biography and CV.

Shortlisted authors will be asked to submit the full text of the book in soft copy. The copy will not be distributed beyond the review committee.

Email your submission with the subject line: “Tana Forum 2021 Annual Book Launch” to tigist.k@ipss-addis.org  and n.maphalala@ipss-addis.org before 31 August 2021. Submissions will be reviewed by a committee consisting of internal and external reviewers. Only one book will be featured at the launch.
