The Tana High Level Forum, Security in Africa is a high-level forum that takes place in Bahir Dar every year with a range of themes that are inextricably linked with security contexts of the continent Africa. The forum blossomed over the years, and the themes’ parameters widened every year. Renowned experts in peace and security, as well as current and previous heads of state from African nations, took part and contributed their viewpoints and insights.
With the theme “Managing Security Threats: Building Resilience for the Africa We Want,” the Tana High Level Forum will mark its 10th anniversary this year and be held in a hybrid format; virtually and physically respecting all the COVID 19 protocols, from October 14–16, 2022 in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia. A week prior to the forum, on October 7, 2022, the THLF secretariats, former Ethiopian prime minister Hailemariam Dessalegn, and other FDRE top level government officials as well as the African Peace and Security Program Director and head of the Tana Forum Secretariat, Lettie Tembo Longwe will hold Ambassadors’ and press briefing- and roundtable at the Sheraton Addis in Simien Saloon starting from 9:30pm-11:30pm.
